The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Privacy & Information Management is inviting the submission of abstracts for presentation at the HHS Symposium entitled “Data Privacy in the Digital Age.” The request seeks “original scholarship and/or empirical research on issues of emerging technologies, health, privacy, and ethics in diverse areas including law, policy, medicine, and technology.” In particular, the event will cover:

the Internet of Things in the health space; mobile health apps; wearables; privacy-enhancing technology, such as differential privacy; big data; genetic databases; privacy and health information management in the cloud; wellness programs; information sharing and the health care market

The HHS Symposium will be held in Washington, DC on Thursday, October 26, 2017 with the possibility of subsequent article publication. The deadline to submit abstracts is June 9, 2017 to [email protected]
